土曜日は、パーティーのはしご。と、言っても子供達のお約束。まず、リリちゃんの誕生会へ行って、その後、アナベラの家のハローインパーティー。アラタは朝からパンプキンのコスチュームを着て、リリちゃんのパーティーにも「着ていく～。」ま、いいんだけど、

去年はあんなに泣いて嫌がって、

その後も当時の写真を見るたびに「パンプキン、いやだー」って言っていたのに。一年で面白さがわかるようになったのね。（そして一年経っても同じサイズの服が着れるんだねー。）

ところで、アラタの水疱瘡はとても軽く済んだ。自分がなった記憶からももっとひどいのを覚悟していたけど、熱もでないし、発疹も20個ぐらい。毎日元気に、でも外に出れずにパワーをあり余らせていた。水疱瘡をもうやっているルークが一度遊びに来てくれて助かった。かゆみ止めには、夕子さんがGPに勧められたというカーマインクリームを買ってみた。効いたのか、かきむしるほどひどくなかったのか、よくわからない。

We went to 2 parties on Saturday. Well, all Aratakara's ones. We went to Lilia's 4th birthday party first, then, went to Annabellie's Halloween party. Arata found the pumpkin costume that he hated so much last year. He put it on and seemed to be so happy this time. He insisted to wear it to Lilia's party.

Last year, he was in the pumpkin only for a minute.

He started to scream and took it off.

Apparently he didn't like it. Since then, whenever he sees the photo of him in the pumpkin, he always says, "I don't like pumpkins!" He's grown out of it and he now understands the exciting aspect of dressing up! (He can still wear the same size costume, by the way...)

Luckily, Arata's chickenpox was very mild. He didn't have any temperature and he had only about 20 spots in total. He was full of energy for a week but as he couldn't go out, he was a bit frustrated. Luke, who has already had chickenpox, came to visit us, which was very good for us. We bought calamine cream, which was recommended to Yuko by her GP. It probably worked or, anyway, Arata didn't have much to scratch.

2Y9M 1Y0M 水疱瘡！ Chickenpox

昨日、アラタのお尻や背中にいくつか赤い湿疹を発見。水疱瘡だった。今朝、私は何も知らずに出勤。自宅勤務だったJasonが、アラタカラをナーサリーに連れて行ったと思っていたら、「医者にアラタを連れて行く」というメールをもらい、えっ、なんで？

水疱瘡と言っても熱がないアラタは元気に家で遊んでいたみたいで、Jasonは邪魔されて仕事にならなかった様子。水泡がかさぶたになるまで、5ー7日ぐらいはナーサリーにも公共の場にも行けないらしいので、来週は私も会社を休まなければならないだろう。ナーサリー代、一日50ポンド（一万円）程払っているのに、返ってくるわけじゃないのが痛いなあ。そして、ほぼ確実にタカラにも移るだろう。なーんで仕事に戻った後にこういう事が起きるのよ～。

もちろん、イギリスの医者は子供の水疱瘡に薬はいらないと言って薬無し。薬を使わずに治るに越した事はないが。かゆみを和らげるためにお風呂にちょくちょく入るといいらしいから早速入れた。日本のサイトを見る限りでは、治るまでお風呂に入るなって書いてあるけど。いろいろ違うけど、結局どっちでもいいって事なんだろうね。

I found a couple of red pimples on Arata's back last night. I didn't know it's because he's got chickenpox and I just went to work this morning. Jason worked from home today and, I thought, he'd dropped Aratakara off at nursery when I received an e-mail saying, "I'm taking Arata to GP."

Arata doesn't have any temperature and he was playing happily all day at home. Jason couldn't do his work properly for sure. Arata can't go back to nursery for at least 5 to 7 days, till all the blisters have crusted over. We can not have a refund from nursery, we pay for about 50 pounds per day per child, and Jason and I must have days off from work to look after him.... And Takara will most probably get it from Arata.... Why does this happen after I go back to work!

In Japan, doctors advise parents not to give children a bath till they have recovered. But we found in English sites, having a bath every 4 hours will help to ease the itchiness. We followed English advice and gave Arata a bath today. We of course didn't get any medicine from GP here, but in Japan, doctors prescribe some ointment or medicine. Very different approach!

2Y9M 1Y0M レイジータウン Lazy Town Live

ウォーキングシアターで

『レイジータウンライブ』

を観た。アラタは、『フィンブルス』『トゥイニーズ』に続き、3回目のシアターでの観覧。

『フィンブルス』の時は後半は観客席の階段の上り下りをずっとしていた

が、今回は最後まで座って見ていた。成長したわー。ただ、一緒に行ったマッツはダンスしたり、手をたたいたり、ノリノリだったのに、アラタはしない。まあ、プレイグループ行っても、お歌の時間に絶対にみんなと一緒に踊ったりしないから予測はしていたけど。

これは性格なのだろうか。大丈夫かしら…。「楽しかった」と言っていたので楽しかったのだろう…けど…。シアターデビューのタカラ。前半は静かに見ていたが、後半は愚図ったのでおっぱい上げたら寝た。今まで観た中で、一番私も楽しめた、なかなかのお勧め。キャストには日本人の女優さんもいた。

at Woking Theatre. It's Arata's 3rd visit to the theatre. When we went to see "Fimbles Live",

Arata was walking up and down the stairs

in the second half. When we saw "Tweenies Live", he looked bored all the way. And this time, I can tell you that he was really concentrating on the show although he didn't show any excitement. Mats danced along, clapped his hands and surely participated in the show with other children. But Arata didn't do anything. He just sat and watching. Well, I could expect this as he never takes part in the song time at play group.

Is this his personality? I'm a bit worried. He said he enjoyed it, although he didn't look enjoying it...

It was Takara's first time to go to theatre. He watched quietly before the interval. In the second half, he started grizzly. I gave my breast and he fell asleep.

In 3 children's shows I've seen here, this is the best one. I enjoyed it a lot! One of the cast was a Japanese actress!

2Y9M 1Y タカラ1才！ Takara has turned 1!

お誕生日おめでとう、タカラ！あっという間に1才になりました。プレゼント、メッセージ、カード、みなさんありがとう！

ケーキのろうそく、吹き消す・・・んじゃなくて（まだこの年じゃできないけどね）、イチゴを取って食べちゃった。アラタが代わりにふーしました。（アラタの口に注目）

Happy birthday, Takara! He is 1 year old today. Thank you for the presents, cards and messages you have sent to us from all over the world!

Takara was going to blow the candle? No, he took a strawberry. Arata did it for him! (Look at Arata's lips.)

2Y9M 52W6D 奇声 Screaming

ラグビーワールドカップ。日本は予選で敗退したが、ゆうこさんとテレビで観戦もした。私達、日本人女子だし（？）、つい、「きゃーーーーーーーー」って黄色い声を出して、興奮するんだけど、それをタカラが真似するようになった。

満面の笑みで、腹の底から「キャーーー」と奇声を上げるのでものすごい騒音。そして、それをアラタが真似するようになり、アラタカラで、「キャー」「きゃーー」と呼応し合って喜んでいるから頭が痛い・・・。

ちなみに、Jasonはもちろん、オールブラックスを応援する。ところが、イングランド対トンガの試合で、イングランドを応援している私の横で、トンガのトライに「よっしゃあ」って言ってるから、なんで？

トンガとサモアは、オールブラックスBチーム、Cチームなんだって。両国の殆んどの選手がニュージーランドのクラブチームでプレーしているので、才能があればオールブラックスに選ばれる。及ばない選手が自国の代表になるということらしい。日本チームは、はっきり言って日本＆ニュージーランドの混合チームだから、家庭の事情を差し引いても日本も応援しなきゃね！

Since I watched a Japan's match of rugby world cup with Yuko, Takara has started to scream in really high pitch. Well, we Japanese females are "famous" for screaming while watching sports. Yuko and I kept screaming during the match from excitement and Takara decided to copy us.

Takara screams from bottom of his stomach, with a big smile on his face. It's so loud! And.... Arata copies him. They often scream to each other, one screams "Kyaaaaaaaaa" then another goes "Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa".

By the way, of course, Jason supports All Blacks. But when I was "screaming" when watching England vs Tonga, I was surprised to see Jason supporting Tonga. According to him, or in general?, Tonga or Samoa are regarded as All Blacks B and C teams. (Because thouse who can't be chosen from All Blacks play for their own countries as most of them play at club teams in New Zealand. Interesting!) So, how about Japan? Apart from the fact that Jason has a strong connection with Japan, Japan team is actually Japanese and New Zealand mixed team and he has to support it!
