月曜日に2週間続くアラタの下痢と咳のことでGPへ行ったが、聴診器で胸をチェックして、「問題ない。2週間後もこの状態だったらまた来なさい。」そうしたら２次感染を防ぐために抗生物質を出してくれるのだろう。私の学習能力も最低だ。このぐらいのことでは薬も出してもらえないから行っても無駄だってこと、いい加減にわかってもいいのに。案の定、一昨日辺りから下痢も治まり、食欲も回復した。一方、私の咳と喉痛は全くよくならず、不快で夜も熟睡できない。
ナーサリーでのアラタは、相変わらず朝連れて行くと泣く。水曜日は行く前から察して抵抗。それでも日中は慣れつつあるそうで、３食ぺろりと食べて、たまに入れられる1歳半以上の部屋が特に好きらしい。そこにいる時は他の子どもたちに愛想を振りまき、遊びを観察して、そして参加するらしい。一番小さい子どものクラスだと、もう、ちょっと退屈なのかもしれない。
最近好きでよくやるのは、ふたを閉めること。ビデオカメラで録画していると、カメラのキャップを閉めようとする。ビンにふたをしてみる、など。シェイプソーターの玩具が楽しめるかなと思ってやらせてみたけど、まだまだで、なんでもかんでも「丸」に入れようとしていた。言葉の方は、実は「ジュー」は飲み物だけではなく食べ物もさすようだ。それ以外には、「バナナ」やテレビに犬が映ると「わんわん」、そしてナーサリーで仕入れてきた「No!（いやだ！）」。こっちが言っていることもかなりわかってきたようで、「きちんと座って」と言えば座る。そうそう、「いないいないばあ遊び」という絵本が好きで、ページをめくっては「ばぁ」と言っている（写真）。機嫌がいいと、自分の顔を何かで隠して「ばぁ」も。
I took Arata to GP on Monday about his two-week-lasting coughing and diarrhea. A doctor checked his chest with a stethoscope and said, "Nothing serious. If he doesn't get better in 2 weeks, bring him back." I know, they will prescribe him some antibiotics in such a case. Well, I should have known that there is no point taking him to GP for 'only' 2 weeks of problems. They will do nothing. I should have learnt it by now.... Well, his coughing and diarrhea have got better and he has regained his appetite since, anyway. 'I' have still terrible coughing and sorethroat. I can't sleep well because of the pains.
At nursery, Arata is getting better. He still cries when I drop him off in the morning, but during day, he's started to enjoy himself. He usually eats up all 3 meals and he especially likes the older children's room. He is sometimes put in the room. Then he smiles at everybody, he watches them playing, and eventually joins them. Probably the youngest children's room, where Arata is usually in, is a bit boring for him now.
His recent favourite play is 'putting a lid on'. When we are taking his video, he tries to put the lence cap on, for example. But he still can't understand the shape-sorter toys, because he always tries to put all the shapes into the 'round' one!
Oh, we have learnt that Arata's 'Juu' also means food. He also says "Banana" with Japanese accent and "Wan-wan (Japanese baby word for a dog)" when he sees a dog on TV. His first proper English word 'No' is also coming. He often keeps saying 'No' for any reason.... He is also be able to understand some simple instructions such as 'Sit down' in Japanese. By the way, he loves a Japanese Pee-ka-boo book and he often opens the book, flips the pages saying "Baa! (Japanese version of 'boo')" as in this photo.

アラタくんそんなに下痢が続くとはつらいね。
日本ではちょっと風邪引いたみたいで行くとすぐ薬を出し、ちょっとブツブツできているとすぐステロイドを出す。それに慣れちゃうとイギリスで不安な思いをするのかなぁ。さて、渡英するにあたりいくつか聞きたいことがあります。e-mailを載せるのでメールを送っていただけると助かります。宜しくお願いします。>
あらたん、ナーサリー慣れてきてよかったねー。年上の子と遊ぶのは脳がきっと刺激されてよいよ。あたしとか全然どこにもつれていってないから、スペンサー刺激少ないだろうなぁ。
言葉もだいぶんふえてきたんだね。もう ＮＯがいえるんだ。うちはまだ何いってるかわかんないよ。意味不明。あたしが行ってることもどれだけわかってんのかなぁって感じだよ。>
自分のことも、小さい子どものことを考えると、日本の医療のが安心できるよ。親にさんざん、日本にしばらく帰ってきて住めって言われてるよ。今回自分がこんな目に遭うと、そうしようかなってちょっと思ったりしちゃう・・・。
Bendyさん、すぺくん、ままの言ってる事はわかってると思うよ。そのうち、急に反応しだすんじゃないかなあ。最近、アラタに、「それ取って」って言うと、取ってくれるから便利になったよ。>
