6Y1M 4Y4M 理系？ Future science student?

今朝目覚めると、「昨日は夜が長かった」とアラタ。就寝が早かったので、長く寝たからなのだが、続けて「昨日は地球が遅く回ったんじゃない？」

私には全くありえない発想。以前、理工学部出身の友達が、「ボールを糸でつるして持った時、自分が支えている力と地球が引っ張っている力が同じ大きさなんだって、子供の時に気がついた」と言っているのを聞いて驚いたことがある。そんな発想、私には大人になってからだってない。

その事を思い出した。

When Arata woke up this morning, he said, "It was a long night yesterday." It's because Aratakara went to bed early and slept longer than usual. Anyway, he then continued, "I think the earth turned slower last night."

I was so surprised to hear that because I never think things that way. Long time ago, a friend of mine, who majoured in engineering at university, said, "When I was a small child, I was pulling a string attached to a ball. I simply realised the force I was holding the ball and that of the earth pulling it were equal, whithout being told."

I remembered this old conversation.
