２０１８年１０月以来、７年ちょっとぶりにタカラ、ペナンに初里帰り。
行く前から食べ物リスト５０以上、行くとこリストもいろいろ作って楽しみにしていた。初日はノーザムカフェで大量に食べまくり、その後も食べて食べて食べて、５日までにほぼリストにある食べ物を達成したと思ったら、お腹の調子が悪くなったタカラ。私も数日遅れて腹痛下痢・・・・。（１週間ほどかけて痛みが胃から小腸、大腸と降りて行った・・・💦）
東南アジアに住み始めのころにまず一回はなる症状なんなんだけどね。
オリバーはCNYで実家に戻っている友達や、ちょうどオーストラリアの大学に旅立つ友達にも会えて、また、ずっとマレーシアにいる友達、４月から日本の大学に行く友達など何人もの古い友達に会えた。またセントクリストファーも訪れて、Ms GreenやMr Towesにも会えた。
CSCはコーチホーにあいさつしたけど、覚えていたかは不明。CSCで一度泳がせてもらったのでいいか。
私はリン、ワイマンをはじめ、洋子さん、直子さん、ぞうさん、葉子さん、亜紀さん、ゆうこさん、ひろみさん、ななせさん、さいこさん、ナンシー、サリー、ジェーン、フェイとフランク、なおさんにも会えたが、ナニアの純子先生に会えたことはうれしかった。ナニアを１年ほど前に他の方にゆずって今はゆっくりしている純子先生。ペナンに呼び寄せているお母さんの介護をしながら過ごしているとのこと。
もちろんスージーとも再会。彼女はこの6年の間に生死をさまよったと。コロナの時に肺に水が貯まる病気でジェネラルホスピタルに入院したが、水を抜く手術の費用が出せない。辛くて苦しくて諦めかけたが、コロナで満床になっていたジェネラルホスピタルから何人かがランダムにプライベートホスピタルの送られたと。その時の一人にスージーが選ばれ、ラムワイイー病院でジェネラルホスピタルの料金で治療が受けられたとのこと。
それ以来彼女はクリスチャンにコンバートした。彼女は、「チコ、私はクリスチャンガールになったわ」と言っていてかわいかった。外出する時は一応ビンディはつけているが、家に着くと外すそうだ。元気になって本当に私も安心。次回もまた会いたいよ。
It was his first time for Takara to be back to Penang, his Furusato, since we left in November 2008.
It happened to be just before CNY and he could see his friends who are back in Penang, and a couple of friends who were about to leave for Australia or Japan for study. We saw those who are based in Malaysia too. I caught up with many old friends in both Penang and KL too.
Among them, our high-lights were seeing Junko sensei from Nania and Susi.
Junko sensei has recently sold her business and she is now enjoying her retired time while looking after her own monther in Penang.
About Susi. Since we left Penang, she suffered terrible health problems and she went through a difficult time so we were really happy to see each other again. She even bought us some lunch! I hope we can see her next time as well.
Susi told me, during the covid, she was hospitalised at the General hospital for, I'm not sure what it was, some fluid collected in her lung. Although she needed some procedure to remove it, it was too expensive for her to do so and, according to her, she was about to die.
But luckily because of the covid, the General hospital was so full and a couple of patients were simply chosen to be transferred to a private hospital, Lam Wah Ee and she was one of them.
Lam Wah Ee treated her only for the General hospital fee and she fully recovered. Since then, Susi has been converted to be a Christian, although she is still wearing a bindi when she goes out, she said. She said, 'Chiko, I am a Christian girl, now!'
