お誕生日おめでとう、Jason！朝、一足早く起きて、リビングルームに「Happy Birthday!」のバルーンを上げ、コーヒー好きのJasonにエスプレッソやラテが作れるコーヒーマシーンをプレゼント。Jasonのガジェットがまた一つ増えた？おかげで、私も朝からおいしいラテにありつけた。
お祝いにケーキでも食べに行こうと、ロンドンまで出かける。（目的は果たせず。）お昼は、もちろん中華街。ピータン入りのお粥は美味でアラタもパクパク！その後、Soho にあるニュージーランドカフェ Flat White へ。その名の通り、イギリスでは見かけないけれど、ニュージーランドでは一般的なフラットホワイトが飲め、ウエイターはキウイイングリッシュで「How are you keeping?」
（違いは？ 1/3がエスプレッソは皆同じで残りが… 『フラットホワイト』 全部スチームミルク、『カフェラテ』 トップ1cmミルクの泡、残りスチームミルク、『カプチーノ』 1/3スチームミルク、1/3ミルクの泡。ちなみに『カフェオレ』は1/2普通のフィルターコーヒー、1/2熱くしたミルク。)
その後アラタはナショナルギャラリーに初登場。と言っても、無料で入れるのをいいことに、オムツを替えただけなんだけど、オムツが軽くなって気をよくしたアラタは、階段を上ったり下りたり疲れる様子なし。トラファルガースクエアへまでてくてく。楽しい誕生日だったかな、Jason? さて、アラタの弟、予定日まで

Happy birthday, Jason! I got up a bit earlier and put a present and a 'Happy birthday' balloon in the sitting room. The present this year is a espresso machine, with which you can also make Cafe Latte and Cappuccino. Jason's new gadget? Thanks for my present, I had a nice cup of Latte this morning!
We then went to London intending to have nice cakes. (The mission failed!) We first went to the China Town to have lunch then we headed for a New Zealand cafe 'Flat White' in Soho. We of course have a nice cup of
'flat white'
,which we don't usually find in the U.K.
After that, Arata made a National Gallery debut! Well, it's free admission and we just went to get Arata's nappy changed.... But after his nappy became fresh and light, he couldn't stop walk up and down the stairs. He didn't seem to get tired and walked to the Trafalgar Square. I hope it was a nice birthday for Jason!

そうよね、はら写真すら撮らないのに、産まれた子供の写真をたくさん撮ってあげるのかしら～。できるだけやってあげるつもりだけど、私も弟と子供のころのアルバムの数が全然違うわ。>

そうか。そういう風にFlat Whiteを分析されると納得してしまったよ。ラテのただの泡の無いやつがFlat Whiteで、Long blackはただのブラックの大きいのってイメージしかなかった。なぜかMaidenheadにAustraliaのコーヒーチェーンがあってFlat Whiteを飲んでたよ。>
We have an Australian chain that sells "flat white" here in Woking too. But I don't think they train the staff in the Australian way of coffee making, because it comes out the same as the usual weak English latte. Maybe it was a Muffin Break in Maidenhead too?>
