予定日になった。そして、産気を催すこともなく一日が終わった。本当にもうすぐ生まれるのか、いま一つ実感が湧かないなあ。
Jasonも休暇なので、まず、グリニッジにある、チャイニーズスーパーマーケット、See Woo Hong(●和行 - ●はさんずいに「四」) へ行った。チャイナタウンにもお店があるが、グリニッジの方はかなり広く、カリフォルニア米や韓国のコチュジャンまであった。これから私のお気に入りになりそう。大好物のカンコンもあったので、今日の晩ごはんはもちろんスティームボート！
その後、前から行きたかったレイクサイドショッピングセンターへ。ここは、Wappingから車で30分程、M25のすぐ横にある巨大なショッピングモールだ。モール内には、大きなツリーが飾られていてクリスマス気分全開、買い物客でごった返していた。モールの周辺にはIKEAやPC Worldなど一連の店舗が名を連ねている。このエリアだけで、英国のメジャーなチェーン店をほとんど網羅しているような印象を受けた。Mothercareを見つけた私達は、つい、赤ちゃんにおもちゃや本を買ってしまった。
Today is 'the' day. But nothing happened. I, rather, still can't believe that a baby will be born to me in any minute....
Jason is also on holiday from today and we went to a Chinese Supermarket, See Woo Hong, in Greenwich. They have a store in Chinatown, but this one is much bigger and has everything, like California rice and Korean Kochujan. I will definitely become a regular here. I found my favourite Chinese vegetable, Kang Kong. And... we had steamboat for dinner!
We then went to Lakeside Shopping Centre that we've been wanting to go. It's a huge shopping mall just off M25 and only half an hour drive from Wapping. There was a big Christmas tree and a large number of Christmas shoppers. I felt really Christmas! Outside the mall, there are also a lot of well-known retailers. I think you can find most of the major shops in the U.K. in this area alone. We found a big Mothercare shop. Of course, we didn't forget to buy toys and books for our baby....
