+22W 2D Wokingのベイビークリニック Baby clinic at Woking

Wapping Health Centreとは比べ物にならないぐらい素敵な外観のヘルスセンターに飛び込みで入って、GPの登録。「ベイビークリニックもやっていますか」と聞くと、何のことだかわからない様子。中にいた一人のスタッフが、「ああ、ヘルスビジター主催のね、それなら裏の病院でやってるわ。」

その、裏の病院、Woking Community Hospitalで聞くと、水曜日の午後がベイビークリニックだというので早速行ってみた。アラタの体重は7.24Kg。ここでは身長も測ってくれて、67Cm。どうやらWokingでは、コミュニティセンターのようなところも含めて数箇所にベイビークリニックがあるので、自分の都合に合わせてどこへ行ってもいいみたい。私達のフラットの近くもあるので次回はそこへ行こう。ヘルスビジターはGoldsworth Park Health Centreで集中管理しているというので、赤ちゃんのデータもそこで管理されるのだろうか。ベイビーグループの情報がほしいというと、Wokingと近郊の小さい子供がいる人向けの、ナーサリーからベイビー・トドラーグループまで情報が掲載されている'The Family Grapevine'という季刊誌を渡された。写真は本を読むアラタ。

I went to one of the nice looking health centre this morning to register my family with GPs. I asked if they run a baby clinic but they don't. The Woking Community hospital, just behind the health centre, has a baby clinic on Wednesday afternoon. Luckily, it's today! Arata weighed in at 7.24 Kg. They also measure baby's height. He was 67 cm. In Woking, health centre and baby clinic are not necessarily at the same location. There are a few places such as community centre which have a baby clinic, and you can go wherever convenient. Health visitors are centralised at Goldworth Park Health Centre and probably baby's records are also kept there. When I said a health visitor that I was looking for baby groups, she gave me a quarterly local magazine called 'The Family Grapevine'. The photo is 'Arata reading a book'.
