スーパーマーケットなどで使うショッピングカート。日本のはどうだか意識したことがなくてわからないのだが、イギリスでは大き目のカートには小さい子供を座らせる椅子が付いている。かなり大きな幼児までが座れるように、足が出る部分が空いているタイプと、もう少し小さい赤ちゃん用のシートベルト付き、プラスチック製椅子タイプがある。アラタを車で郊外型のスーパーやリテイラーパークに連れて行く時は、こういったカートに座らせて買い物ができるから、わざわざ車にバギーを積み込まなくて済む。そして、こういった大型店の駐車場には、身体障害者用のほかに、大概、「乳幼児連れ専用」スロットが入り口近くにあるから嬉しい。
We can usually carry our baby or toddler on a shopping cart at supermarket etc.( I'm not sure if we can find the similar carts at supermarkets in Japan.) And we do not have to pack the buggy into our car when we go to a big supermarket or retailer park. Usually, those big shops have special parking spaces for those who have toddlers or babies, very close to the entrance.
